Half-marathon tested

This is an oil painting on canvas of a pair of well worn brogues. These were cheap TK Maxx shoes that fit me perfectly when I tried them on and subsequently bought them straight away. They got a fairly immediate test when I walked back from Motherwell to the West End. They’ve been resoled twice; had a half resole and now been skived and re-heeled. I’m hoping I can get a full rebuild out of them before they’re done. Best shoes I’ve ever had. Pencil and pen underdrawing from life atop a purple coloured ground.
