Colour layering of differing intensities using acrylic, oil pastel, pastel, oil bar, gouache on paper. A pulling back of colour and marks through scraping back the media, aims to contrast with colour-flattened slabbing. This work draws from war-referenced toys created circa World War One, to preserve the anonymity of a man currently in Ukraine.
