I aim to explore appropriation, automatism and material process through cyanotype. Working with light-sensitive materials allows a sense of chance and unpredictability to emerge. My deep engagement with the emotional weight of domestic relics, belonging to my parents, enabled me to create a developed set of sun-exposed imprints. Exploring ideas of inherited identity, I sought to bring new meaning to these appropriated objects, whilst upholding the existing memories of my parents' collections. My work represents quiet imprints of the past and creates an opportunity to recontextualise select objects that particularly resonate with those from similar generations.
