This piece was inspired by the numbers of women going wild swimming, and linked to the historical interpretations of the Three Graces, often described as Beauty, Charm and Joy. They are linked with Doves, and I often paint figures with birds, so that was an easy decision. And their shapes and costumes also give a nod to Niki de Saint Phalle.
