Z and The Cats

This piece was inspired by the book House of Leaves. One of the characters is an old blind man and the book returns to this vivid image of him entering a courtyard and being approached by several cats. This drawing started as a quick sketch which I put aside as I studied and drew some cats. I could never get a consistent shape to the cats. People I discussed this with found the drawings I did of cats from memory very funny so I decided to just straight ahead ink some cats into the drawing and then inked the rest of the page.
