Statement

Art, for me, is both a language and a mirror, a way to articulate the intangible and reflect the depth of human experience. My work is rooted in portraiture, driven by a desire to tell stories that are intimate and  honest. Each face I draw is not just a likeness, but a vessel through which I explore identity, memory, state of being and emotion by infusing symbols sometimes into my drawings.
I primarily work with charcoal and graphite on paper, a medium that allows me to engage directly with contrast and texture. The monochrome palette strips away distractions, drawing the viewer into the raw presence of the subject. I’m fascinated by the quiet power of expression—how a glance, a gesture, or a shadow can speak volumes.
My practice is not bound to a single style or theme. Instead, it evolves with the questions I ask of myself and the world I inhabit. Through my portraits, I aim to honor both individuality and shared human experience, capturing the quiet strength, vulnerability, and complexity that define us.
