Shattered thoughts
The medium is glass art, with a particular focus on glass fusion. My inspiration was the human brain, as I am fascinated by its complexities and function. I started with a piece of glass and collected various additional pieces, primarily in shades of red, pink, and orange. This included a piece of dichroic glass, which I chose for its pink/yellow iridescent shimmer and distinctive pattern.

I used a glass cutter to shape these pieces into a brain-like form, angling some to create curves that would fit onto the base glass for fusing. During the process, some of the dichroic glass broke into smaller fragments, which I decided to incorporate into the design.

To add an abstract element, I also included purple, blue, and light blue glass pieces around the outer area of the brain. The final step involved gluing all the glass pieces onto the base glass before placing it in the kiln for fusing.
