Garden Delights
Garden Delights is a vibrant mixed media artwork created collaboratively by our group, using a wide variety of fabrics and recycled materials to build rich layers and textures. Inspired by the beautiful garden at TouchBase, we set out to capture the energy, colour, and abundance of plant life and small creatures that thrive in that space.
The piece reflects our collective vision of a busy, thriving garden—full of life, movement, and discovery. Each participant brought their own ideas and creative choices to the work, contributing unique elements to represent flowers, insects, leaves, and other natural forms. From drawn details to carefully placed appliqué and textile collage, every part of the artwork carries a personal touch.
Working together on Garden Delights was a joyful and inclusive process. The people we support showed great enthusiasm, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership in what they contributed. Everyone was encouraged to decide what they wanted to add, fostering both creative expression and teamwork.
This artwork not only celebrates the beauty of the natural world, but also the spirit of community, collaboration, and shared inspiration found through time spent in the garden and with each other.
