‘Pensive’ depicts an intimate, profile view of a tabby cat. Using the sharpened point of a soft pastel pencil to faithfully capture each hair, whisker, and highlight, I also focused on recreating the cat’s thoughtful and focused stare as well as the intricate pattern in the cat’s iris.
