This is a painting of a young child painted in oil on board. It’s one of a series of paintings I made inspired by observing a group of children at play. I was intrigued by how they played together and particularly in this painting how an older child was carefully ‘minding’ their younger sibling. I hoped to capture a sense of ambiguity in the work.
