The Empty Vessel
This conceptual piece portrays a seated woman with an empty vessel balanced on her head — a symbol of the Earth and femininity. She represents the soil: silent, cracked, and waiting.
Like the pot she carries, she is made of clay — a daughter of the Earth — now burdened by its dryness.
The image speaks of drought and absence — a deep, quiet crisis. The golden streaks in the soil hint at the hidden value of what we take for granted: water, nature, life itself.
If selected, I intend to realise the final piece as a textured painting using acrylic and patina on stretched canvas, with delicate touches of gold leaf.
