The Antique Waltz
This a a self portrait oil painting based around photographic documentation from a series of open water swims.
Step outside of towns and cities and enter areas just a little wilder; coastlines, mountainsides and inland bodies of water, and it won't be long before you find a little piece of death.
I swam over this old sheep several times without knowing she ended her days on the bed beneath me, only when the water's receded a little from a lack of rain did I see her.
A positive reminder of the shortness of it all.
