May Morris (Mother and Child Series)
May Morris, the daughter of the Arts and Crafts designer William Morris, followed her father into his business and was a very successful textile designer in her own right. This portrait which has been hand painted and fired many times is a reminder that although art and craft is still carried on today, the manufacture of stained glass windows as of 2023 has now entered the UK red list of critically endangered crafts. The inspiration comes from a beautiful portrait by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
