Stillness 3
"The wheatfield holds a secret
Cultivation is it’s lie
Stiletto stalks stab native soil
Where Gaea lay with sky
Slip silently through the stillness
As Summer holds her breath
Proud shoots thrust forth outside its gates
To suckle at her breast" [J Holms]
I loved the stillness in the Midsummer landscape where the sun only just dips below the horizon at night and the animals and plants all appear to be at peace, free from the abrupt disruption of night and day.
