What We Talk About When We Talk About Water (2 channel version)
Two-screen video installation, self-contained screens
The installation consists of two video boxes, each showing a synchronised two screen version of two previous films; "Left In Your Safeplace" (2023), an abstract film with soundtrack filmed on the Isle of Lewis on the idea of human precarity in the face of the vastness of nature - and "What We Talk About When We Talk About Water", a spoken meditation on grief and creating shells of protection, using shots and audio of both real and synthesised waves. The screens move in sync, each changing with the other to match the real and the synthesised, the actual and the simulacra.
