‘Supermundanae Gallus
The title of the work embodies the idea of - ‘Mythic Hybridity’ positioning the rooster as a reinvention of an archetypal identity, akin to a totem of the liminal self. It is a chimera of the threshold between the mythic identity (transcendence) clashing with (earthbound), “The Wee Gallus Bloke Nea Mair”. The ‘Occams Razor’ like element recalls the story of gang violence and the ‘one way’ solutions that proscribed a particular form of social conflict in Glaswegian history.
