This is a view of Hillend Loch, a large reservoir near Caldercruix in North Lanarkshire. It is based on a series of photos I took during the Covid-19 lockdown in the summer of 2020. My painting is trying to capture the stillness and peace of a summer day during one of the worst crises of recent years.
