For this piece I was inspired by my parents holiday home on the Isle of Bute. I used my gel plate to create small prints which represent the colours, textures and faces you see on the island. Utilising shells, combs and magazines... I tried not to go for the obvious blue sky, sea and "yellow" sand, I looked at the colours of seaweed and the town, Rothsey. I then chose to display the prints on textured sacks and attach them with gold safely pins.
This was originally part of a collaboration titled Local and so it was extremely different from my normal work.
