Justice is what love looks like in Public.
Justice is what love looks like in public’
Paisley Born Cartoonist & Trade Unionist Jamie-Max dedicated to Late Comrade and Steelers Wheelers Member Rab Noakes
Arts are a necessity, not a luxury, on the route to justice. Bringing power to the people, in the midst
of a cost of living crisis which is felt in every pocket. The time to unite is now. With rampant
profiteering during and post pandemic has left many ordinary people feeling left in the dark.
Winning or losing should never be the defining factor in a fight. It’s pride, pride in the courage it
takes to fight, and when everyday people come together, drawing and building on the strengths of
our history, that we learn to take to the streets and direct the fight to power.
‘Stuck in the middle’: the late Comrade Rab Noakes. Rab Noakes like the mythologised Joe Hill was a
musician and trade union activist, not just standing up for musicians right to be treated fairly and
valued but everybody’s right to that.
Rab’s talent for encouraging others with his songs filled with both hope and humour. The message of
Justice for Justice sake can lack fairness and must be rescued by something deeper. if we're to have
hope. The 'something deeper' is love: Love of hope, love of courage, love of wisdom.
