‘This burd is a belter’ (This female looks amazing)
Watching magpies strutting around my garden and sketching their feathers led to the creation of this drawing. I enjoyed incorporating the graphic distortion of the human form and images of the natural world into the decorative elements of pattern and texture. Balancing space, solid black shapes and areas of intricate detail enabled me to create an interesting composition whilst fashion and textiles continue to provide visual stimuli. This artwork will be mounted within a 60 by 90cm frame.
