Statement
I am an oil painter who works with figures in my practice. My work explores the ways in which humans interact with each other and is currently focused on expressions of love and how humans from all cultures and backgrounds express love to one another. According to Gary Chapman in his book “The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate” there are 5 love languages with which human beings express as well as receive love from one and other. These love languages are: physical touch, acts of service, words of affirmation, gifts and quality time. In my current work I illustrate these through the interaction between the figures in my paintings, the expressions of these love languages are selected through ways in which I have personally seen these love languages expressed.
I currently study Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design at the Univesity of Dundee and finished my third year and will continue for my fourth and final year in September.
