Rebecca Stewart

I am a visual artist based out of Kilfinan, Argyll and Bute. I graduated from Glasgow School of Art's Sculpture and Environmental Art course in 2015. After working in the casting department as a technical assistant I have continued to develop my work through mould making and slip casting. I received funding from Creative Scotland to develop my ceramic practice and explore firing techniques. I spent 2 years in Fernie, Canada developing my work, delivering ceramics classes and taking part in public art projects and group exhibitions. 

 In my work I have combined hand building and slip casting methods to create sculptural pieces. My recent pieces explore colour and texture; inspired by ice  cream, particularly the ice cream shops of holiday towns around the Scottish coasts.
