Hi I'm Laura Murray Jones, an emerging mixed media artist based just North of Glasgow, Scotland—where the skies are dramatic, the landscapes are breathtaking, and the paint never quite dries fast enough.
I work with oil, acrylic, and whatever else is within arm’s reach—often layering in collage elements like old maps, handwritten words, and vintage patterns. These hidden textures peek through the paint like whispers from another time. I like to think of them as little surprises—because, like life, my work is full of layers, and you never know what you might find beneath the surface.
Nature is my biggest inspiration, especially the wild, windswept beauty of Scotland. I hope my work invites people to pause, breathe, and feel a sense of wonder—as if they’ve stumbled upon something quiet and magical in the middle of their day.
