Statement
Thomas Kelly, born Greenock 1960, brought up in Greenock & schooled in Gourock. As a teenager won awards for engineering drawing (Scott Lithgow’s) and school art.
As a teenager being part of the ships company of HMS Dalriada at Eldon Street, Navy buildings.
During a 44 year career he has visited most countries with a coastline and many without. During this time photographing many varied places
He is presently registered engineer and a Fellow of the institute of marine engineers.
His passion to sketch and paint was reignited during lockdown, his favourite medium being ‘Gouache’ paints.
His favourite subjects being local west of Scotland land & seascapes with their turbulent skies, with ‘Sepia’ old photograph interpretation.
